Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Finance to support the Finance Manager in overseeing financial accounting, reporting, inventory, fixed assets, leasing, and operating expenses. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting business operations, and driving continuous process improvements.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders while leading accounting operations across both local and offshore teams.
Support the Finance Manager in managing accounting operations for operating expenses (OPEX), inventory, fixed assets, leasing, and content accounting.
Ensure balance sheet and profit & loss accounts are accurately recorded in compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and reporting packs.
Prepare and review audit schedules and statutory reporting requirements.
Provide accounting guidance to internal business units and external stakeholders.
Review inventory transactions and ensure timely reconciliation between inventory systems and the general ledger.
Coordinate and oversee periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
Manage accounting for fixed assets and leasing arrangements, including compliance with IFRS 16.
Review lease additions, modifications, renewals, and terminations to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Partner with Product, Billing, and IT teams to ensure new products are properly configured from an accounting and financial reporting perspective.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new system implementations and product launches.
Develop testing scenarios, execute testing activities, and update standard operating procedures where required.
Review content-related costs and coordinate subscriber and channel reporting with business stakeholders.
Assist in overseeing and mentoring both onshore and offshore accounting teams.
Support internal and external audit activities by coordinating audit requirements and resolving audit queries.
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, finance, or external audit.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and its practical application.
Experience in IFRS 16 (Leases) and inventory accounting will be an added advantage.
Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
Good understanding of accounting controls and financial processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
Self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Power BI, Excel Macros, or other data visualization/reporting tools will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience is essential.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
