About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-OIL / JVA Consultant to support upstream oil & gas accounting and Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) operations within a large-scale AMS environment. The role requires strong expertise in SAP JVA, upstream accounting processes, stakeholder management, and enterprise support operations.

Core Responsibilities

SAP JVA & IS-OIL Functional Leadership

•  Lead end-to-end SAP IS-OIL & JVA AMS support including incidents, service requests, enhancements, and stabilization activities.

•  Manage configuration and support for: JVA Master, Data Equity Groups, Partner Billing, Cash Calls, Cutback Processing, Overheads, JVA–FI/CO Integration,

•   Ensure system stability, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards and governance requirements.

Upstream Accounting & Production Sharing Support

•  Support Production Sharing Contract (PSC) processes including: Revenue sharing, Cost recovery, Entitlement calculations, Hydrocarbon accounting.

•  Collaborate with upstream business teams on allocation methodologies, cost objects, and revenue distribution.

•   Ensure timely and accurate JV and upstream period-end processing.

Incident, Problem & Change Management

•  Manage and resolve production-critical incidents within SLA timelines.

•  Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.

•  Review and support deployment of change requests, fixes, and enhancements.

•  Coordinate with technical and integration teams during issue resolution and deployments.

Stakeholder & Onsite Coordination

•   Act as primary functional contact for Finance, JV Accounting, and Upstream stakeholders.

•   Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, UAT activities, and business sign-offs.

•   Provide regular status updates, escalation management, and ensure SLA/KPI achievement.

Financial Integration & Reporting

•   Support integration with SAP FI, CO, AA, Cost Objects, and upstream production systems.

•    Troubleshoot issues related to allocations, settlements, partner billing, cutbacks, and period-end close.

•    Support JV partner reporting, PSC reporting, audit, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Enhancement & Transformation Support

•   Lead functional design for JVA-related enhancements and integrations.

•   Support SAP S/4HANA transformation and upstream modernization initiatives.

•   Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and operational improvement.

Governance, Documentation & Leadership

•  Ensure compliance with audit, governance, and internal control requirements.

•  Maintain functional specifications, SOPs, knowledge articles, and support documentation.

•  Mentor junior consultants and promote best practices across support teams.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of SAP consulting experience with strong SAP IS-OIL / JVA expertise.

•  Strong knowledge of upstream oil & gas operations, PSC, and Joint Venture Accounting.

•  Experience with SAP FI/CO integration and AMS support environments.

•  Hands-on exposure to incident, change, and period-end support activities.

•  Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

•  Experience supporting oil & gas enterprise environments preferred.

•  Exposure to SAP S/4HANA projects is an added advantage.
